Wycombe Air Park

Wycombe Air Park lies 2.4 NM south-west of High Wycombe, close to the M40, below the London TMA and next to the London Control Zone. It is operated by Booker Aviation on land leased from the local council, operates VFR only and is strictly PPR at all times; it is open 09:00–17:30 or until sunset, and later into the evening by arrangement. The asphalt runway, 06/24, is 730 × 23 m with a 631 m grass runway alongside, and both Avgas 100LL and Jet A-1 are available.

The airfield opened in 1941 as RAF Booker, a wartime training base where No. 21 Elementary Flying Training School taught RAF pilots on Tiger Moths. It stayed in RAF use into the 1950s and early 1960s, and in 1965 it passed to civilian operation and was renamed Wycombe Air Park.

Today Booker Aviation — part of British European Aviation, the Piper dealer for the UK — runs pilot training from first lesson to commercial licence, sells aircraft and operates an authorised Piper Service Centre that also maintains Cessna, Cirrus, Diamond, Beechcraft and Mooney types. Helicopter training and maintenance, a café and Booker Gliding Club share the field, and intense gliding takes place on and around the aerodrome.

We work to the airfield's procedures for contractors and arrange access with the operator before each job, keeping well clear of gliding operations. We bring our own water container and generator, and our exterior wash is waterless, so we don't depend on facilities at the aircraft. Pipers, Cessnas, Cirrus and Diamond aircraft have an instant online price; larger turboprops such as the Piper M600 are quoted after a short on-site inspection.
